ELA B10: We will be correcting your language study from Monday on Quotation Marks and Underlining. We will also be doing some questions on the poem, "A Yellow Yo-yo and a Black Plastic Button". We will continue working on our found poems.

ELA B30: Be sure you have your language study and Reading workshop journal done for tomorrow. We will finish reading "The Season's Dying" tomorrow as well.

ELA B10: Tomorrow is Language Study and Reading workshop so don't forget to bring a book! Your Concrete poems are due on Wednesday.

ELA B30: We corrected the questions for "A Piece of Chalk" today. We also typed our Valedictorian speeches which are due tomorrow. Don't forget a title page!

ELA B10: Concrete poems are due on Wednesday, March 28. You will have time in the computer lab on Monday but after that, you will not have anymore classtime for this. Have your questions for the short story "The Colt" done for Monday.

ELA B30: Your Valedictorian speeches are due on Tuesday, March 27. You will have time to type these in the computer lab on Monday. We are also going to mark your questions for "A Piece of Chalk" on Monday. May have a homework check!

ELA B10: Continue working on your concrete poem which will be due next week. Tomorrow we will correct your language study sheets on Contractions and Commas. Please hand in your reading journal tomorrow. This is part of your mark and it needs to be completed.

ELA B30: We will be writing our valedictorian speeches tomorrow in class. The amount of classtime given for this assignment will depend on your work during class. You will have typing time on Monday for this. Due on Tuesday!

ELA B10: Concrete poems will be due at the start of next week. Exact date will be set shortly. Use your time wisely in class to get this assignment completed. Language Study and Reading workshop is tomorrow.

ELA B30: Language Study and Reading workshop journals are due tomorrow. I see that many were left here today - they are still due tomorrow. And yes- you need to read 20 minutes before you can complete this. Questions for "One Ordinary Day with Peanuts" are also due tomorrow - #1-5, 7 and 8. You do not need to do the paragraph question for #8. If you didn't read this, you may not know that!!

ELA B10: Complete the questions for the poem, "Mother to Son". We will correct these on Monday. You will start writing your own concrete poem next week. Also, start looking for a secondary source material to use for your found poem.

ELA B30: Complete reading the short story, "One Ordinary Day with Peanuts" and do Questions #1-5, 7 and 8 for Tuesday. On Monday we will be doing language study and reading workshop. If you are away on Monday, please come and get your homework.

ELA B10: I handed back your Myers-Briggs assessments today and students looked over the results. We corrected the questions for the poem, "Parents" and we did a phrenetic phrases worksheet as an introduction to our poetry unit. Don't forget to finish up any incomplete work and assignments. Your marks need to be entered by Wednesday, March 21 for your first term report card mark.

ELA B30: We corrected the rest of the questions for "The Cask of Amontillado" and answered any questions that students may have had. We also discussed the parts of the Valedictorian speech and what it should contain. We looked at a sample and then finished taking down the questions for "The Possibility of Evil". These questions are due tomorrow.

ELA B10: A reminder to students to hand in your reading workshop journal entries that were due today! Now you are already late! Your cliche assignments are due on Tuesday, March 13 so keep working on these. You will get half of the class on Monday to finish these but if you think you need more time, find some extra time on the weekend.

ELA B30: Your "I Am" poems are due on Tuesday, March 13. Please do some creative, interesting work for these. I enjoy the poems that show my students have stretched themselves and are willing to display their good and bad qualities. We will continue with the short story, "The Cask of Amontillado" on Monday. Language Study and Reading workshop will be on Tuesday this week because we want to finish up those poems.

ELA B10: We finished discussing the four poems in our two groups and rated each of them. Each one is a different type of poem and each one has its own way of expressing its meaning. Tomorrow is language study and reading workshop day so please bring a book. Friday will a day when we can spend the majority of the class time on our original cliche assignments. Come to class on Friday with an original cliche chosen and ready to draw. These will be due on Tuesday, March 13.

ELA B30: We corrected the questions for "Larry Walters, My Hero" today in class. We also spent half of the class working on our "I Am" poems. There will be no class tomorrow because of early dismissal but continue working on your "I Am" poems. These will be due early next week. If you need to type this at school, your only opportunity to do this will be on Friday. Otherwise, you will need to type at home.

ELA B10: Your original cliche assigments will be due at the end of the week. Have your idea ready to start drawing tomorrow. We will finish up studying the 4 poems in tomorrow's class.

ELA B30: I had everyone hand in their language study sheet on "Comma Rules 1, 2 and 3" today. Also, remember to hand in your journal entries that were due Monday!
We read the essay, "Larry Walters, My Hero" today and the questions for that essay are also due tomorrow. I also handed out the "I Am" poetry assignment that you will begin working on tomorrow.
