ELA A10:
Hello!  You did have some homework yesterday.  You need to finish the questions for the short story, "Test" and we will mark these on Thursday.  You have your language study quiz today as well as your reading time.  If you tell me the code word, "Wagon Wheel" tomorrow, you can earn one!

ELA A30:  You had a lot of homework for today grade 12!  The questions for the short story, "Turkle" are due today and you needed to complete your editorial paragraph.  You also needed to find a news story for your editorial assignment for today as well!  The code word is "Wagon Wheel".  Share it with me by tomorrow and you will see what happens!

ELA B10:  We corrected the questions for "Flashing Spikes" today and read to the bottom of page 135 of "The Metaphor".  I asked the class to develop a list of important people in their lives - family, friends, pets - and come up with a metaphor for each.  We will continue reading the rest of the story tomorrow in class.

ELA B10: I handed back your Myers-Briggs assessments today and students looked over the results. We corrected the questions for the poem, "Parents" and we did a phrenetic phrases worksheet as an introduction to our poetry unit. Don't forget to finish up any incomplete work and assignments. Your marks need to be entered by Wednesday, March 21 for your first term report card mark.

ELA B30: We corrected the rest of the questions for "The Cask of Amontillado" and answered any questions that students may have had. We also discussed the parts of the Valedictorian speech and what it should contain. We looked at a sample and then finished taking down the questions for "The Possibility of Evil". These questions are due tomorrow.

ELA B10: A reminder to students to hand in your reading workshop journal entries that were due today! Now you are already late! Your cliche assignments are due on Tuesday, March 13 so keep working on these. You will get half of the class on Monday to finish these but if you think you need more time, find some extra time on the weekend.

ELA B30: Your "I Am" poems are due on Tuesday, March 13. Please do some creative, interesting work for these. I enjoy the poems that show my students have stretched themselves and are willing to display their good and bad qualities. We will continue with the short story, "The Cask of Amontillado" on Monday. Language Study and Reading workshop will be on Tuesday this week because we want to finish up those poems.

ELA B10: We finished discussing the four poems in our two groups and rated each of them. Each one is a different type of poem and each one has its own way of expressing its meaning. Tomorrow is language study and reading workshop day so please bring a book. Friday will a day when we can spend the majority of the class time on our original cliche assignments. Come to class on Friday with an original cliche chosen and ready to draw. These will be due on Tuesday, March 13.

ELA B30: We corrected the questions for "Larry Walters, My Hero" today in class. We also spent half of the class working on our "I Am" poems. There will be no class tomorrow because of early dismissal but continue working on your "I Am" poems. These will be due early next week. If you need to type this at school, your only opportunity to do this will be on Friday. Otherwise, you will need to type at home.

Contrast paragraph on Mars and Jupiter is due tomorrow. You will have the first 20 minutes of class to type this if you need it. You will have to take the language study that will be done this period home for homework. Remember to have your paragraph edited by the start of class. Of Mice and Men exam is on Thursday, March 1. (5 marks: Matching, 25 marks: Multiple Choice, 20 marks: Short Answer, and 10 marks: Paragraph questions).

There are a number of incomplete reading journals already and we have only had class for three weeks! You know who you are!!! Marks for Term 1 need to be entered by March 21 - 3 weeks from tomorrow!
